March 5, 2010. 55-36 Espanola Girls beat Silver City in the opening round of the state playoffs. The girls will play at the "PIT" in Albuquerque Tuesday March 9th. This will be the first time the girls team will play at the PIT in Albuquerque. Congratulations to the girls.

Since 1957, if you had military service earnings for active duty (including active duty for training), you paid Social Security taxes on those earnings. Since 1988, inactive duty service in the Armed Forces reserves (such as weekend drills) has also been covered by Social Security.

February 28, 2010, Espanola, NM. In a packed home court the Espanola Valley Sun Devils squared off against the Los Alamos Hill Toppers for the District Title for the second consecutive year. Los Alamos had played the Sun Devils two weeks prior and came with in two points of defeating the Valley. In the previous game, future New Mexico Lobo Alex Kirk had scored 44 points but the Valley was able to pull the game out in the final seconds.
The Española Valley senior Mariano Montoya finished 42-0 with an 8-4 win over Albuquerque Del Norte's Deion Medina and was crowned State Champion. Medina was the only wrestler to score points off of Montoya for the tournament. Congratulations to Mariano for an outstanding performance all season long. Mariano only gave up 13 points all season long.
